Project 2024/25
After the project in May, our school hosted a special event to celebrate the achievements of students who participated in the European mobility program. During the ceremony, students were awarded their English language certificates as well as their official European Mobility Passports.
This was followed by a lively presentation from the students, who shared their experiences from their time in Ireland. Through photos and a short film, they offered personal insights into their stay, including life at the language school, cultural impressions, and what they learned both linguistically and personally.
The afternoon concluded with a relaxed get-together, where students, teachers, and guests had the chance to exchange stories and enjoy some refreshments.
This event not only marked the successful completion of the project but also highlighted the value of international experience and language learning.
In May 2025, students from our technical school – including mechanical and electrical engineering trainees – took part in an Erasmus+ project in Galway, Ireland. The goal of this trip was to improve our English skills, explore a new culture, and learn how to live more independently in a foreign country.
Each weekday, we attended an English language school in Galway. The lessons focused on grammar, polite language, business emails, and vocabulary related to engineering and everyday life. Our teachers used games, teamwork, and fun activities to make the lessons interesting and useful. We also practiced giving short presentations in English and worked on formal writing.
We stayed with local host families, who helped us learn more about daily life in Ireland and practice speaking English outside the classroom. In our free time, we went on cultural trips – for example, to the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. We also explored the city of Galway and had activities like bowling, sightseeing, and pub evenings, which helped us bond as a group.
A special highlight was the visit to McHale, an engineering company, where we got an interesting look at real-life industry in Ireland. We also visited a local university and learned how studying works there. One company visit (TOBIN) was less relevant for some of us, but the experience overall was very positive.
What we learned in the classroom didn’t stay in the classroom: many of us tested our new English skills right away in the pubs and cafes of Galway – in conversations with locals, ordering food, or simply chatting in the group. It was a fun and natural way to put our language training into practice.
Even though we sometimes had bad weather or small problems like delayed buses, we learned a lot – not only in English, but also in how to manage on our own in a new environment. This trip helped us grow personally and professionally.
We thank the Erasmus+ program, our teachers, the language school in Galway, and our host families for making this experience possible. It was a valuable and unforgettable part of our education.
